CHICO — Caltrans is postponing their Eaton Road and Highway 99 improvement project due to weather conditions.
Chico Public Information Officer Linda Gizzi said the plan to close Highway 99 northbound ramps for 55 hours on Dec. 10 is now postponed due to rain. Highway traffic will remain as usual. However, eastbound traffic on Eaton Road will remain closed until the improvement project is completed by Caltrans.
“They’re hopeful they can do it the following weekend. But considering it’s winter, we can’t say we’re 100% sure they’re going to because it’s weather dependent,” Gizzi said.
The project aims to convert Eaton road northbound ramps to be accessible by a 5-leg roundabout intersection.
