Oroville to discuss rezoning, possible membership to Chinese American Heritage Network

OROVILLE — Oroville City Council will discuss the potential membership with the Chinese American Heritage Network (CAHN). CAHN is a non-profit organization that was established to connect Chinese American locations.

The recommendation that will be put before the council is to potentially approve the annual membership fee of $100 to join CAHN.

The City of Oroville may also consider a plan from the Butte County Office of Education to potentially lease the Centennial Cultural Center.

The Oroville City Council will also consider approving a General Plan Amendment and Zoning Code Amendment to rezone a parcel at 440 Plumas Ave. They will also consider approving a general plan amendment to rezone two parcels located at 2833 Fort Wayne St. A recommendation was made to conduct a public hearing to potentially approve this.

The Council will also mull over accepting a proposal received from Trover Construction Project
Management for the construction management of a remodel of the Public Safety Building in an amount
not to exceed $78,000.00.

The next Oroville City Council meeting meets Tuesday, Nov. 16, 2021 at 4:30 p.m. in the city council chambers at 1735 Montgomery St.
