The Pleasant Valley boys basketball team advanced to the consolation honors Saturday morning with a 50-32 win against Fortune on Friday night in the Whitney Tournament.
Chase Mitchell led PV with 18 points and 14 rebounds, Luke Kremer had 14 points and eight rebounds, and Bryson Snelling had 10 points and eight rebounds.
PV (3-1) played next at 6:30 p.m. Thursday against Stagg in the Viking Classic at PV.
Prep girls basketball
Pleasant Valley 50, Dixon 31: PV defeated Dixon in the Davis Tournament on Friday.
AJ Gambol led PV in scoring with 16 points, and Cassidy Vickery and Mariah Letcher had eight points each.
Pleasant Valley (3-3) plays next at 7 p.m. Monday at Del Oro.
Paradise 44, Lindhurst 27: Jaylah Craft and Nyah Baker each scored 12 points while Baylie Hovey chipped in 10 points. It was the Bobcats’ (1-3) first win of the season. Baker was selected to the all-tourney team. The Bobcats’ next game is Tuesday at 5:30 p.m. against Mt Shasta at Paradise High.
Women’s College basketball
San Joaquin Delta 83, Butte 57: Meghan Weinrich scored 20 points and had six rebounds in the loss to San Joaquin Delta on Friday night. Sanaya Shrader had 16 rebounds for Butte, which fell to 6-4.
Men’s College basketball
Butte 88, Merced 84: Isaac Wood led Butte with 24 points in the Friday night win. Rolontae Knowles had 18 points while Derrek Gordon added 13. The win moved Butte to 5-3 on the year.
