Sinclair market robbed for fourth time since Dec. 14

CHICO — The Chico Police Department says an armed robbery took place at 9:50 a.m. Friday morning at the Sinclair market and gas station, located at 1115 W. Sixth Street in Chico.

Chico Police Department officers responded to the location, where they located and contacted Robert Studdard nearby. A press release from Chico Police stated that Studdard, 27, was arrested and taken into custody without incident.

Charges and bail against Studdard are pending.

The incident was the ninth armed robbery reported at markets in west Chico since Dec. 14, 2021 and the fourth at the Sinclair market and gas station in that timeframe.

In response, the police department’s Patrol Division has begun additional patrols to deter robbery suspects and increase the chances of arresting suspects if additional robberies occur.
